Ah, Basketball. One of the most famous sports to date, played by both young and old, casual and professional, a game that mixes both skill and coordination. Originally invited in 1891 in the city of Springfield, Massachusetts, Canadian phys-ed instructor James Naismith was looking for a game to play that caused less injury than football. To add to that, he wanted a game that could be played indoors so he could keep warm during those cold Canadian winters. It wasn't long before basketball was quickly established as a game viable enough to be played in American colleges, which soon thereafter led to it being played professionally.

The National Basketball Association, more commonly known as the NBA today, was established in 1946. Since then the game has evolved in almost every facet, both from the established rules, to the outfits, and the strategies. Because basketball was so widely accepted across both Canada and America, it's no wonder that today it's a multi-billion dollar enterprise, with their players earning tens of millions of dollars per year.
